Do you know a friend or family member interested in joining the Little Italy Lodge? Our Lodge is comprised of men and women who believe in the value of maintaining Italian culture in America. As specified in our by-laws, members are:

  • persons of Italian birth or descent;
  • spouses of those of Italian lineage;
  • those adopted by persons of Italian lineage (or spouses of such adopted persons);
  • widows/widowers and divorced spouses of current/former members, (or of such adopted person)

Members pledge to support the mission and purposes of the Lodge and to contribute their time, effort and funds to the maintenance of the Lodge and the activities it supports through volunteer efforts.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS (from the by-laws):
Article 1. Membership in the Little Italy Lodge #2286 shall be restricted to those persons of Italian birth or descent; spouses of those of Italian lineage, and those adopted by persons of Italian lineage and the spouses of such adopted persons; widows, widowers and divorced spouses of such adopted persons; or widows, widowers and divorced spouses of current or former members.

Article 2. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age: a) To perpetuate the Order and its principles, the Lodge may accept junior members under the age of 18 years. They have all the rights and privileges as members, except the right to vote for the election of officers, and/or be elected to office. He or she must adhere to all the laws of the State of Maryland. The applicant shall be required to pay 1/2 of the application fee, and/or initiation fee, and/or dues. Upon reaching the age of 18, those brothers and sisters may remain affiliated with our Lodge, but will no longer be considered junior members.

Article 3. Application for membership shall be made upon an official application (supplied by the Grand Lodge), signed by the applicant, and signed by the sponsor who vouches the applicant has the required qualifications for membership. An applicant for membership to the Little Italy Lodge must first be accepted by a majority vote of the assembly of the Little Italy Lodge and subsequent written approval by the Grand Lodge before that membership becomes official. Applicant shall be required to pay the application fee and/or initiation fee and/or dues. No membership card will be issued to the applicant until the Grand Lodge prints out the member’s application with a computerized number on it and returns the yellow copy of the application form to our Financial Secretary. The member is now officially a member of the Little Italy Lodge, receives his/her membership card and is entitled to all the rights and privileges as a member of the Lodge.
